Seeking a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy? We proudly Announce CEO's second litter of 2013 with "Enchanting Alessandra Of Buddington MX, MXJ", also known as "Aless", an agility champion with impressive health credentials.

At nearly 7 years old Aless remains MVD heart clear, eye clear, hip dysplasia clear and patellae clear.

Rarely does a female breed at this age so health outcomes often must be extrapolated from parents. In this case, Aless has a verifiable health record on her own which increases the probability of likewise healthy offspring.

Beauty. Brains. Health. Temperament. Yes, you can have it all.

Aless has completed her masters level agility titles (equivalent to utility in obedience) under the AKC, another impressive feat. Performance seems to run in the family since 3 of her siblings ranked amongst the top 5 agility Cavaliers in the USA, including her brother Skittles, who took the #1 spot last year.

As a potential dog owner, performance/obedience titles offer proof of stability and intellect, a quantity not easily revealed in the show ring.

Blenheim X Blenheim =

Blenheim colouring is dominant in Cavaliers so CEO's and Aless' puppies were destined to be Blenheims, and on June 26th, 2013, two beautiful puppies with great Blenheim markings were born by c-section. Aless and CEO are proud, no doubt.

Outcross breeding

CEO and Aless are are highly unrelated to one another, so the pups will have a low in-breeding coefficient for optimal genetic diversity. But they do share some traits which we hope they will pass on to their pups, namely beauty, intelligence, health, and a sweet but performance oriented temperament.

Follow this page for more details and photos

The pups have a busy schedule nursing with their mother so our professional photographer has not been able to book an appointment to see them. But we hope to share some good pictures of the pups in due course. Stay tuned.

Update: August 27th 2013

Finally, we have some photos to share with you. The pups are doing amazingly well and have decided they like chewing on shoes. The boy bears a remarkable resemblance to his father, CEO.

Taking a time out.

Both pups are already spoken for. They will be heading to the States, one to the west coast the other to the east. So we are not sure when we will see them next. However, you may spot one at an agility competition near you in the not too distant future. Stay on the look-out.

Update: January 20th 2014

The pups have settled in their new homes and are doing well.

Gracie is very outgoing and sweet and has given the other (older) Cavalier in her household new spunk for playing.

Agent Cooper loves training lessons and enjoys hiking with his people. He is super sweet and loving, likes to play with his toys, people, and--of course--other Cavaliers.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Jewelcroft's CEO: Blenheim Cavaliers named after a palace and famous military victory

Blenheim Cavaliers named after a famous military victory and palace

The name "Blenheim" derives from a Bavarian town, which was the site of a famous battle in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession.

The battle pitted English and Austrian allies against French and Bavarian forces who were marching on Vienna. The English and Austrian generals managed to inflict heavy losses on their enemies.

The English crown rewarded their general for prevailing over French and Bavarian forces with funds to build a palace, thence named after the site of the general's auspicious victory - Blenheim.

Later, when Blenheim palace was inhabited by the general and his descendants, the Dukes of Marlborough, King Charles Spaniels were kept there. The brown and white version was the most ubiquitous at the palace and later became popularly known as Blenheim type King Charles Spaniels.

Today, Blenheim palace is the home to special Cavalier King Charles Spaniel events, of which many Blenheim type Cavaliers attend.
