Family tree

CEO family tree dripping with champions on every branch

Do Champions grow on trees? In CEO's case, yes. CEO, his parents and grandparents are all show Champions. You will find another 9 champions amongst his great and great-great grandparents. Will the trend continue? Hard to say, but as the saying goes, the apple does not fall too far from the tree.

Cavaliers have a royal pedigree

All Cavaliers descend from aristocratic stock. But from there, lines diverge, offering slightly different variants to taste. Though health remains a constant in CEO's pedigree, he falls closer to the sporting end of the spectrum, both in body type and personality, than, say, the lap dog.

Mastering a puzzle toy at an early age.

His mother, Jem, has a very classic and handsome Mill Hill head. Likewise, CEO commands attention with his large masculine head as a boy ought to. He has heavy bone, good spring of rib. Hard muscles ripple under his coat. Overall, he has a very robust athletic build.

A pensive moment.

Personality dovetails body type and that means CEO has a confident, assertive, sporting persona. But make no mistake, he does express a gentle and affectionate side typical of any proper Cavalier.

More to come

CEO will be trialing for his CD and CDX obedience titles this year so we will have additional documents on display in due course.

Update - CEO, C.D.

CEO earned his C.D. (Companion Dog) title on his first attempt at the Swansea Dog Obedience Club Trials May 25 & 26, 2013. Held at the Pine Point Arena, in Toronto, CEO entered all four trials. Over the course of the weekend event CEO managed to earn a "four square" C.D. title, meaning he successfully qualified in each of the four trials. Of course, a C.D. title only requires 3 qualifications (or "legs" as they are known in obedience parlance), so the last trial was just for fun. Way to go CEO.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Jewelcroft's CEO: The best gift you can give your Cavalier? Your time and attention.

The best gift you can give your Cavalier? Your time and attention.

You can house your dog in a palace, you can furnish him with a silk covered feather bed, you can adorn him with a gold collar and platinum name tag, but without your love and attention he will not be happy.

Your dog craves your company so don't worry too much about material things. Instead, take your dog everywhere you can. And when you are at home, let him snuggle in your lap.

Fortunately, Cavaliers are welcome in many places so you have will have plenty of opportunities to take your dog along with you for companionship.

A dog breed inspiring old masters of the renaissance

Rarely does an original cost less than a replica, but you are more likely to afford a real live Cavalier King Charles Spaniel than an oil painting depicting one. Quite a bargain.

Some of the world's most renown artists, including van Dyck, Landseer, Rubens, Velázquez, Manet and others, captured the King Charles Spaniels of their day on canvas leaving us a permanent record.

Many of these works are priceless; you simply can not buy them anywhere at any price. But even lesser works--of middling practitioners--fetch high prices at auction.

So unless you have millions at your disposal or have the moxie and skill of an accomplished art thief, the most economical (and satisfying) course of action remains to own the real thing.

For lovers of beauty the Cavalier must be the best art deal on four legs.
